A Little History About L.A.

Los Angeles, California was originally founded in 1781 by Spanish governor Felipe de Neve. However, it wasn’t until the discovery of oil in the early 1900s that the city experienced significant growth and development. One cool story from the history of Los Angeles is the legend of how the famous Hollywood sign came to be. Originally erected in 1923 as an advertisement for a local real estate development. The sign was recognized as a local attraction, so it was rebuilt in 1978 with stronger steel. The iconic sign has remained an enduring symbol of the city that represents the film industry and the American dream.

The Community of Los Angeles Trusts Pure Cannalyst Labs For:

Pesticide Screening

With increased awareness of the negative health effects of pesticides, it is crucial to prioritize the safety and health of your customers. At Pure Cannalyst Labs, we offer pesticide screenings that test for 66 different pesticides, giving you peace of mind that your product is safe for consumption. Not only does testing for pesticides improve the quality and safety of your product, but it can also help build trust with your customers and set you apart from competitors in the industry.

Potency Testing

Testing the potency of cannabis before selling it in Los Angeles is crucial to ensuring quality and safety for both consumers and sellers. Potency refers to the strength or concentration of active compounds in cannabis, which directly affects its effects and potential health impacts. At Pure Cannalyst Labs, we provide comprehensive testing services that measure the potency of cannabis by analyzing the levels of various cannabinoids present in the sample.

Testing For Residual Solvents

Residual solvents refer to the leftover substances, often toxic, that remain in the cannabis after the extraction process. These solvents can be detrimental to health if consumed in high quantities.

At Pure Cannalyst Labs, we understand the significance of testing cannabis for residual solvents. We take pride in our comprehensive testing methods that examine the presence of 22 different residual solvents. Through our rigorous testing procedures, we aim to provide accurate and reliable results that ensure the safety and purity of your cannabis products.

Testing For Heavy Metals

Heavy metals are naturally occurring elements that are found in the environment, including the soil in which cannabis plants are grown. Exposure to heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium can have detrimental effects on human health, leading to various health issues ranging from organ damage to neurological problems. By testing for these specific heavy metals, we help you mitigate potential risks and ensure that your cannabis is safe for consumption.

Testing For Terpenes

Terpenes are organic compounds responsible for the distinct aromas and flavors found in different strains of cannabis. They not only contribute to the sensory experience but also play a significant role in the therapeutic effects of the plant.

By having cannabis tested for its terpenes, sellers can provide their customers with accurate information about the strains they are purchasing. This transparency helps consumers make informed choices based on their preferences or desired effects. At Pure Cannalyst Labs, we understand the importance of terpene testing and offer comprehensive analysis for 22 different terpenes.

Testing For Moisture Content

Moisture content refers to the amount of water present in the cannabis flowers. Testing for moisture content is crucial as it directly affects the quality, potency, and overall experience of the cannabis product.

Properly cured cannabis flowers should have a moisture content below 13%. This range is considered optimal for maintaining the quality and preserving the cannabinoids and terpenes present in the plant. Ideally, the moisture content should fall between 10-12% to ensure exceptional quality.

Testing For Potency Homogeneity

Potency homogeneity refers to the even distribution of cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD, throughout the entire cannabis product. Having unevenly distributed potency in cannabis products can cause safety concerns for the end consumer. For instance, if a cannabis product has higher than intended levels of THC, it may cause negative side effects such as increased anxiety, paranoia, and intoxication. On the other hand, if a cannabis product has lower than intended levels of THC, it may not produce the intended effects for the consumer. This is why it is important for cannabis sellers to ensure that their products’ potency is homogenous and consistent across the entire batch.

Testing for Microbiological Contaminants

Microbiological contaminants refer to the presence of harmful microorganisms or bacteria that can pose serious health risks to consumers. These contaminants can result from a variety of factors such as improper storage, handling, or cultivation practices.

Microorganisms such as species of Aspergillus, Salmonella, and E. coli are commonly found in the environment and can potentially contaminate cannabis during the growth and processing stages.

At Pure Cannalyst Labs, our comprehensive testing protocols aim to ensure that cannabis products meet the highest safety standards. We specifically test for three pathogen groups: species of Aspergillus, Salmonella, and E. coli. Each of these pathogens can lead to different health issues if consumed or inhaled.

Testing For Mycotoxins

Mycotoxins are toxic compounds produced by various fungi that can contaminate crops, including cannabis. These harmful substances pose a significant health risk to consumers if ingested or inhaled.

Pure Cannalyst Labs understands the importance of mycotoxin testing and proudly offers comprehensive analysis to identify five specific mycotoxins: Aflatoxin B1, Aflatoxin B2, Aflatoxin G1, Aflatoxin G2, and Ochratoxin A. Each mycotoxin presents its own unique health hazards, ranging from liver damage to kidney dysfunction.

Testing For Water Activity

Water activity refers to the measure of available water in a substance, which is critical for determining the potential for microbial growth and product stability.

Cannabis products with a water activity level below 0.60 aw are considered to be shelf-stable without the need for refrigeration. This means that these products can be stored at room temperature for an extended period without the risk of microbial contamination or spoilage. A low water activity level indicates minimal moisture, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, molds, and yeasts that could compromise the product’s safety and shelf life.

On the other hand, cannabis products with a water activity level between 0.60-0.85 aw will not require refrigeration but have a limited shelf life. Although they are not deemed as shelf-stable, these products can still be stored at room temperature for a certain period before they begin to deteriorate. However, it is crucial to monitor and ensure that the products are consumed within their specified shelf life to maintain their quality and potency.

For products with a water activity level above 0.85 aw, refrigeration or other methods to prevent microbial growth become necessary. A higher water activity level provides a more favorable environment for microbial proliferation, increasing the risk of contamination and potential health hazards.
